Shepherd’s Center 2017 Adventures In Learning Series
The Spring 2017 Adventures in Learning education series sponsored by the Shepherd’s Center of Greater Winston-Salem will be held on Tuesday through Thursday, April 25, 26 and 27 at Ardmore United Methodist Church, 630 S. Hawthorne Road. First time participants in the life-long learning series can participate at no charge except for the cost of lunch (if requested) and any workshop supplies.
The series will begin each day with light refreshments at 8:30 a.m. with classes beginning at 9:00 a.m. Six exciting morning course selections include: Fix Your Family, Tech Topics, Complimentary Health…Alternatives to Your Health Care, Psalms of the Bible, Alcohol Ink Drawing, and Safety for the Older Adult In & Out of the Home.
The Luncheon course option will feature presentations by our Senior Tar Heel Legislator, Althea Taylor-Jones, with some inspirational messages about longevity and its consequences. These sessions will focus on Advocacy: Privilege or Responsibility? We will explore topics such as Advocacy 101, How Might We Advocate with Greater Impact, and Let’s Advocate Together!
Three stimulating afternoon sessions include: Local Authors and the Creative Process, Paper Crafting with Rubber Stamps and Local Tours with visits to Miracles in Sight – The Second Largest Eye Bank in the U.S., UNCSA – Schools of Film and/or Dance or Drama and Trader Joes..
The cost for the full series is $20 for Center members and volunteers; $25 for non-members. Lunch is available for an additional fee. Call the Shepherd’s Center at 336-748-0217 for more information or to register.
