Scuppernong Books to Host Reading by Selected Authors

Scuppernong Books will host a reading by four authors whose work is included in the 2017 Flying South, a Winston-Salem Writers literary competition. The reading will be held on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. at Scuppernong Books,  304 S. Elm St. in downtown Greensboro. Rebecca Davis, winner of the Best Fiction and the President’s Favorite awards, will read her winning short story, and John Haugh, Michael Gaspeny and Rick Jordan will read their submissions, as well as other work they have written. Kernersville Senior Enrichment Center 18th Annual Book Sale

The Kernersville Senior Enrichment Center will conduct its 18th Annual Book Sale Thursday, October 19 from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.,  Friday, October 20 from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and  Saturday, October 21 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the Senior Center. The Senior Center is located in the lower level of the Paddison Memorial Library (130 E. Mountain Street, Kernersville, NC). A Bake Sale will also take place during the sale October on October 19th and 20th only.
