Watch RJR High School’s Production of “Into the Woods” Online
RJ Reynolds High School’s spring musical production of “Into the Woods” was scheduled to perform Thursday March 12th through Saturday March 14th at RJ Reynolds Auditorium. Due to concerns about the spreading of COVID-19, WSFCS is not allowing an audience into the auditorium for the performance. Re-scheduling the performance was simply not an option. Instead, the staff has decided to create a “virtual experience” via live stream and video, in order to share the work with the public that many students have been working tirelessly on for months.Stephen Sondheim’s most famous musical, “Into the Woods” combines multiple well known fairy tales into one plot. As each character heads into the woods to pursue their “wish”, their paths intertwine to create a story with a powerful message about love, family, loss, and navigating “the deep, dark woods” of hardship. RJR’s version of the classic musical is a brilliant splash of color, lighting, sound and a whirlwind of talent, all coinciding together onstage to create something truly magical. Productions this size can be massively expensive. Because there will be no box office intake, the RJ Reynolds High School Theatre Department is accepting donations to help recoup their loss. Information about live stream or video can be found on the RJ Reynolds Arts Facebook page, or @RJRDemonDrama on Instagram/Facebook, or on the Reynolds High School Website later today.
