Wes Jones, longtime Triad broadcaster, passed away in April. Friends gathered at WTOB’s Trade Street studios on Friday, May 19 to share stories and memories of a man who changed the radio landscape in the Triad over the last 40 plus years. Wes is WTOB station identification voice and you can still hear his voice every hour.
Radio and television families are as strong as blood relatives and that is truly the case with Wes and the myriad broadcasters he worked with over the years.
It is our hope that as you listen to this tribute, you take away with you the joy that Wes brought us as listeners, co-workers, and friends.
Extra special thanks to Willie Edwards, Lee Ann Petty, Randy Simpson and Perry Woods for sharing some great memories of Wes and a legacy of service to Triad area broadcasting.
