Gears & Guitars, Winston-Salem Cycling Classic Postponed until October

Special Gears & Guitars Concerts to Take Place July 4 and September 6

WINSTON-SALEM (MARCH 26, 2020)—This spring’s Gears & Guitars music festival, the Winston-Salem Cycling Classic and Flow Auto Gran Fondo have been postponed and will now take place the weekend of October 2-4.  The three-day concert series will take place in downtown Winston-Salem’s Bailey Park.  Final race classifications and schedules have not been determined for the Cycling Classic and will be announced at a later date.

“The exciting news is that by moving our race to October, the Winston-Salem Cycling Classic becomes the much-anticipated finale for the 2020 USA Crit Series,” Winston-Salem Cycling Classic race director Ray Boden said.  “With the adjusted race calendar there’s a lot of momentum going on at the end of the Crit Series, and we will be the center of road cycling in America.  We look forward to announcing all of the other race classifications and schedules in the near future.”

Boden said that music enthusiasts won’t have to wait until October for a Gears & Guitars sponsored concert.  Gears & Guitars will continue its ongoing collaboration with Incendiary Brewing Company. Several concerts remain on the calendar including a 4th of July celebration named “Firecracker” featuring the band Cracker and a September 6 concert to celebrate the craft brewery’s second anniversary. The April 17 concert with Cowboy Mouth is expected to be rescheduled for late summer.

“We’re saddened by having to postpone our events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, we need to be respectful of our community’s physical, mental, emotional and financial health. We look forward to coming back stronger than ever with great concert events in July and September capped off by our music festival and bike races the first weekend of October,” Boden said.  “We’re already working hard to reschedule bands and promise we will showcase outstanding local, regional and national talent at Gears & Guitars this October.”

Gears and Guitars tickets and Winston-Salem Cycling Classic registrations will be refunded to those who have purchased tickets to or registered for the postponed events.
